The details:

2. Paint, assemble or create your canvas. The theme is birds.
3. Print your name clearly on the back of your canvas.
4. Return your finished canvas along with the completed project form to any Art Media store.
Please be sure to print your full name clearly on the back of the canvas frame. In addition to being part of a fun collective project and supporting Portland Audubon, artists will receive 2 passes to the Wild Arts Festival, and discount coupons for Art Media, the Portland Audubon Nature Store and Urban Grind Coffee. Grandpa & Grandma Barker
I Remember
I remember little things we made
Little things we did and said
Grandpa’s pipe and cool green shade
Clean sheets tucked nicely on the bed
I remember corn ten feet tall
Grandpa hoeing down each row
Seeing my first Hollyhock doll
And Grandma teaching me to sew
I remember good old King
And the yellow cat, the squirrels, the hawks
Hearing that mans bagpipes sing
Quiet times and Quiet talks
I remember sleeping in Grandpa’s chair
Ape man records, owls and frogs
Summer vacations I spent there
The neighbor’s pond and funny dogs
I remember Mrs. East and Mrs. West
The dollhouse we made so magnificent
Christmas presents I liked best
Good times, well spent
I remember little trinkets and little toys
Meeting Jasper Jay and Winnie the Pooh
Special times and special joys
But mostly just that I love you.

Walters Cultural Center Annual Plein Air Competition
"Eastman Plaza" (Only Blue)
Oil on Canvas
16" x 20"
Here you see both the photo I took when I started the day and my finished painting. Yes, I know the building is tan in real life but tan is so boring that I decided to try painting it my colors gone wild method that I have been toying with lately. It was the 4th annual Plein Air Competition sponsored by Walters Cultural Center in Hillsboro. The painters are fun and the event is great! Even though it is a competition everyone makes you feel special.

Utrecht Portland In the NW park blocks 2010
It was a beautiful day to be painting in the park! Here you see my subject photographed in the morning light a little while before I started painting. Above that you see the same subject, and take note of the shadows, photographed close to the time I finished. On the very top you see the results.

Camp 18 Water Wheel
"Camp 18 Water Wheel"
Oil on Canvas Board
16" x 18"
I've been away 5 weeks from the end of April through the end of May and I get home and catch strep and the medicine is supposed to last until the end of June and it makes me not feel so great and the 29th of June I start jury duty and, and, and,....I haven't had a chance to get out and paint so I dug up this one I started to do last year at Camp 18 and finished it while the rest of my painting friends were actually getting to go there. I used photos my husband took to complete the painting from and I see on the Portland Plein Air & Studio Painters behind the scene blog a photo so identical to Ron's that I had to compare them to make sure it wasn't his photo already on the blog. :-) Great minds run in the same track.

Yachats Watercolor
"Table Rock"
This is a watercolor I brought to the Columbia Arts Guild March meeting. I painted it in layers over several days. My Uncle used to like to fish there. We often go to Yachats for vacation and I have seen the tide out so far you can almost walk around the end. I have also seen up over the top of the table many times.

Ron's Woodwork
Ron's Post Office Box Bank
These were just small projects he made. The corners are actually two different shades of dark wood and it doesn't show up well on this one. Others had more contrast in the wood color so you see three colors at the corners better. The outline strip of color is about one sixteenth of an inch wide. At the bottom on the right I just barely pushed out the hidden drawer where the key goes. Some of the banks he made were the type that had a combination dial and he etched the numbers inside that hidden drawer area.
Ron has made lots of other projects. I'll have to get photos and share them in my blog.
