The supply of donated canvases from Art Media for the 2010 6×6 Wild Art Project are now gone for this year.
Join the 6×6 project and use your creative talent to support the Audubon Society of Portland. Art Media is donating the 6 inch x 6 inch canvases and we are asking artists to donate their time and talent to create a piece of art that will be sold at the Wild Arts Festival, November 20 and 21, 2010.
The details:
1. Sign out a 6″x 6″ canvas and project form at any Art Media store.
2. Paint, assemble or create your canvas. The theme is birds.
3. Print your name clearly on the back of your canvas.
4. Return your finished canvas along with the completed project form to any Art Media store.
Please be sure to print your full name clearly on the back of the canvas frame. In addition to being part of a fun collective project and supporting Portland Audubon, artists will receive 2 passes to the Wild Arts Festival, and discount coupons for Art Media, the Portland Audubon Nature Store and Urban Grind Coffee. Artists will be recognized in the Festival program and on the Portland Audubon website.
Canvases will be exhibited and sold at the 2010 Wild Arts Festival held at Montgomery Park in northwest Portland. They will be priced at $40 each. All proceeds from the sales will support the conservation, environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation work of the Audubon Society of Portland.

Grandpa & Grandma Barker

I Remember

I remember little things we made
Little things we did and said
Grandpa’s pipe and cool green shade
Clean sheets tucked nicely on the bed

I remember corn ten feet tall
Grandpa hoeing down each row
Seeing my first Hollyhock doll
And Grandma teaching me to sew

I remember good old King
And the yellow cat, the squirrels, the hawks
Hearing that mans bagpipes sing
Quiet times and Quiet talks

I remember sleeping in Grandpa’s chair
Ape man records, owls and frogs
Summer vacations I spent there
The neighbor’s pond and funny dogs

I remember Mrs. East and Mrs. West
The dollhouse we made so magnificent
Christmas presents I liked best
Good times, well spent

I remember little trinkets and little toys
Meeting Jasper Jay and Winnie the Pooh
Special times and special joys
But mostly just that I love you.
